On February 19th, 2010, Tyler had went to UVRMC Surgical Center for a "Right Olecranon Fixation"....or in other words, he got a 9cm screw placed into his growth plate of his right elbow to hopefully close up the gap. His elbow had been bothering him for the past few years...especially during baseball season. We took him to Dr. Ryan Richards for x-rays and found that his growth plate had a separation that could only be repaired surgically. So, at 7 a.m, we showed up for surgery. Everything went really well. The surgery lasted about an hour and then he was in recovery for another hour. He was sent home with a half-cast and a sling, and pretty much can't use his right arm for about 6 weeks! So much for baseball this season. We are kind of bummed, but it's better to get it fixed now, then to wait and have it get injured any further!
